Administrative Assistant
The Administrative Assistant serves at the Opportunities for Otsego reception area and supports the agency in a variety of administrative duties.   Responsibilities include organization, coordination, and support of agency operations, greeting visitors and callers, directing visitors to appropriate programs, routing agency wide mail, data entry, and a variety of clerical/administrative duties for other departments as required. 
Qualifications:  HS Diploma or GED, Associates /Degree in Business Administration desirable;  three years of relevant experience with office practices; ability to accurately perform clerical tasks and work with the public; keyboarding and computer proficiency. How to apply

Early Childhood

From pregnancy to preschool, Head Start promotes family health and well-being and prepares young children for kindergarten and life beyond school.The Assistant Teacher works in the Head Start Program that supports children, ages 3-5 from low income families, to develop the skills needed to be successful in school.  Responsibilities include assisting a classroom teacher in daily classroom activities, keeping records, and working with children and parents in a center based program.  Full-time positions available in: Cherry Valley, Cooperstown, Morris, Oneonta, Schenevus, and Unadilla; with school breaks and summers off.  
Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED; current preschool CDA preferred; one year experience working with pre-school children; a valid New York State driver’s license. How to apply

Center Associate (Full-Time & Substitutes)
Join our team of dedicated and caring preschool educators and professionals. From pregnancy to preschool, Head Start promotes family health and well-being and prepares young children for kindergarten and life beyond school.The Center Associate works in the Head Start Program that supports children, ages 3-5 from low income families, to develop skills needed to be successful in school.  Responsibilities include assisting a classroom teacher in daily classroom activities, school bus monitoring, and working with children and parents in a center-based program.  Full-time positions  available in:  Cherry Valley, Oneonta, Schenevus, and Unadilla. Substitutes work hours as needed by the program, and are needed at multiple sites.  All positions have school breaks and summers off.
Qualifications:  High School Diploma/GED; one year experience working with pre-school children; a valid New York State driver's license (not mandatory for substitutes). How to apply

Center Director
Join our team of dedicated and caring preschool educators and professionals. From pregnancy to preschool, Head Start promotes family health and well-being and prepares young children for kindergarten and life beyond school.The Center Director works in the Head Start/Early Head Start program that supports children, ages 0-5 from low income families, to develop skills needed to be successful in school.  Responsibilities include supervising employees, managing operations of a multi-classroom center, purchasing, ensuring compliance with regulatory and program standards, maintaining data, and report writing.  This position is located in Oneonta, with school breaks and summers off.
Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, or a related field; two years teaching experience; two years supervisory experience; valid New York State driver's license. How to apply

Children’s Center Associate (Substitutes)
The Children’s Center Associate works at The Children's Center, a day care center in Cooperstown for children whose parents have business in the Otsego County Courts.  Responsibilities include assisting a classroom teacher in daily classroom activities and working with children and parents in a center based program.  Substitutes work hours as needed by the program, with school breaks and summers off.
Qualifications:  High School Diploma or GED; one year experience working with pre-school children; valid New York State driver’s license. How to apply

Classroom Teacher
Join our team of dedicated and caring preschool educators and professionals. From pregnancy to preschool, Head Start promotes family health and well-being and prepares young children for kindergarten and life beyond school.The Classroom Teacher works in the Head Start program that supports children, ages 3-5 from low income families, to develop skills needed to be successful in school.  Some Classroom Teachers also work in the UPK program.  Responsibilities include planning and conducting daily classroom activities, conducting screenings and assessments, parent-teacher conferences and home visits, record keeping, and supervising Assistant Teachers and classroom volunteers.  Two positions available in Oneonta.  One is a UPK program position.  Both with school breaks and summers off.  (UPK program position has a pending hire.)
Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood, Elementary Education or a related field; one year of experience in an early childhood program; Teacher certification (for UPK program teachers only); valid New York State driver’s license and reliable transportation. How to apply

Emergency Housing

EHAP Residential Associate (Substitutes)
Be a part of the solution to the local housing crisis. Through our emergency shelter program, you can offer hope and stability to homeless individuals and families at-risk of losing their homes.  The EHAP Residential Associate works in the Emergency Housing Assistance Program to support and advocate for clients at the emergency housing residential facility, helping them attain permanent housing, employment, and other goals to achieve self-sufficiency. Responsibilities include ensuring the security, safety, and health of residents and staff, collaborating with other community programs and organizations, responding to the emergency housing hotline, and providing on-call coverage as assigned.  Substitutes work hours as needed by the program.

Health & Nutrition

NEW!  WIC Nutritionist
Improve the health of pregnant women, infants, and young children who are at nutritional risk by joining one of the nation's largest food and nutrition assistance programs.  The WIC Nutritionist works in the Women, Infants, and Children Program that provides education, support, and supplemental food to promote good health for pregnant, breastfeeding, and postpartum women and children. Responsibilities include reviewing applications and enrolling participants, assessing and creating plans to meet participant needs, providing education and counseling in nutrition and breastfeeding, assistance in program planning, record keeping and reporting.
Qualifications:  Registered Nurse (RN) with a Bachelor’s Degree or Nutrition and Dietetics Technician Registered (DTR/NDTR) or Bachelors Degree in appropriate health related field with at least 6 credit hours in nutrition; valid New York State  driver’s license and reliable transportation.  How to apply 

Victim Support

VIP Residential Associate (Substitutes)
For over 25 years, the Violence Intervention Program (VIP) has provided support to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other crimes throughout Otsego County. Through our emergency shelter program you can help break the cycle of violence.  The VIP Residential Associate works in the Violence Intervention Program to support victims of domestic violence and sexual assault by maintaining a safe environment at the domestic violence shelter, conducting intake interviews, providing client support, advocacy, and medical accompaniment, assisting in case management and crisis intervention, and answering the domestic violence/sexual assault hotline.  Substitutes work hours as needed by the program.  
Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED; a valid New York State driver's license; and experience in human services. How to apply
