Early Childhood

Assistant Teacher
The Assistant Teacher works in the Head Start Program that supports children, ages 3-5 from low income families, to develop the skills needed to be successful in school.  Responsibilities include assisting a classroom teacher in daily classroom activities, keeping records, and working with children and parents in a center based program.  Two positions available: both are at our Schenevus site.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED; current preschool CDA preferred; one year experience working with pre-school children; a valid New York State driver’s license.

Center Associate (Full-Time & Substitutes)
The Center Associate works in the Head Start Program that supports children, ages 3-5 from low income families, to develop skills needed to be successful in school.  Responsibilities include assisting a classroom teacher in daily classroom activities, school bus monitoring, and working with children and parents in a center-based program.  Full-time position located at our Cooperstown site. Substitutes work hours as needed by the program.  
Qualifications:  High School Diploma/GED; one year experience working with pre-school children; a valid New York State driver's license (not mandatory for substitutes).

Center-Based Family Partner
The Center-Based Family Partner works in a community-based program that supports low-income families with children enrolled in the Head Start/Early Head Start Program.  Responsibilities include assisting families to design and implement development plans, planning and conducting client home visits, promoting full attendance in the program, maintaining data and records, and writing reports.  This position splits time between our Laurens and Morris sites.
Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Family Services, Counseling  or related field OR Associates degree in Human Services, Social Work, Family Services, Counseling or related field with a credential and one year of related experience in Human Services; valid New York State driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

Classroom Teacher
The Classroom Teacher works in the Head Start program that supports children, ages 3-5 from low income families, to develop skills needed to be successful in school.  Some Classroom Teachers also work in the UPK program.  Responsibilities include planning and conducting daily classroom activities, conducting screenings and assessments, parent-teacher conferences and home visits, record keeping, and supervising Assistant Teachers and classroom volunteers.  This is a UPK program position.
Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood, Elementary Education or a related field; one year of experience in an early childhood program; Teacher certification (for UPK program teachers only); valid New York State driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Early Head Start Caregiver I
The Early Head Start Caregiver I works in the Early Head Start program that supports children, 18 to 36 months from low-income families to develop the skills needed to be successful in school.  Responsibilities include assisting a Caregiver II in planning and conducting daily classroom activities, documentation and record keeping, screenings, assessments, and working with children and parents in a center based program. 
Qualifications:  High School Diploma or GED with a current Infant/Toddler CDA or Associate’s Degree in early childhood education; one year experience in an early childhood program; valid New York State driver’s license.

Home-Based Family Partner
The Home-Based Family Partner works in a community-based program that supports low income families with children and prenatal women enrolled in Head Start/Early Head Start.  Responsibilities include assisting families to design and implement development plans, planning and conducting client home visits, promoting full attendance in the program, maintaining data and records, and writing reports.  Two positions available:  one in the Unadilla area, and one in the Schenevus area.  Pay starts at $15.51 per hour.
Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Family Services, Counseling or related field OR Associates degree in Human Services, Social Work, Family Services, Counseling or related field with a  home-based CDA or equivalent credential and one year of related experience in Human Services; valid New York State driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

Housing

EHAP Residential Associate (Substitutes)
The EHAP Residential Associate works in the Emergency Housing Assistance Program to support and advocate for clients at the emergency housing residential facility, helping them attain permanent housing, employment, and other goals to achieve self-sufficiency. Responsibilities include ensuring the security, safety, and health of residents and staff, collaborating with other community programs and organizations, responding to the emergency housing hotline, and providing on-call coverage as assigned.  Substitutes work hours as needed by the program.
Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED; experience in human services area; a valid New York State driver's license.  

Victim Support

Campus Coordinator/Advocate
The Campus Coordinator/Advocate works with the Violence Intervention Program team to support victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and violent crimes.  Responsibilities include providing prevention and educational programs to the higher education campus community (faculty, staff, students, and athletes) with the goal of supporting the student population impacted by sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and stalking within the campus community. The Campus Coordinator/Advocate will also serve as a confidential victim advocate for students, providing confidential, survivor-focused services and resources to students seeking support and information in response to experiences involving sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and stalking.
Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services  or related field with one year of relevant experience preferably in domestic violence, sexual assault and counseling; New York State Department of Health Rape Crisis Certification required within first six months of employment; valid New York State driver’s license and reliable transportation.

NEW!  Victim Resource Coordinator
The Victim Resource Coordinator works with the Violence Intervention Program team that provides a variety of support services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and violent crimes. Responsibilities include conducting domestic violence and sexual assault prevention education and presentations in schools and other community settings, coordinating rape crisis training, developing programs, report writing, and supervising interns and volunteers. 
Qualifications:  Bachelor's Degree in Teaching, Counseling, or discipline related to the job; one year experience highly related to education and public information; New York State Department of Health Rape Crisis Certification within first six months of employment; valid New York State driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

VIP Residential Associate (Substitutes)
The VIP Residential Associate works in the Violence Intervention Program to support victims of domestic violence and sexual assault by maintaining a safe environment at the domestic violence shelter, conducting intake interviews, providing client support, advocacy, and medical accompaniment, assisting in case management and crisis intervention, and answering the domestic violence/sexual assault hotline.  Substitutes work hours as needed by the program.  
Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED; a valid New York State driver's license; and experience in human services.
