Early Childhood

NEW!  Assistant Teacher
The Assistant Teacher works in the Head Start Program that supports children, ages 3-5 from low income families, to develop the skills needed to be successful in school.  Responsibilities include assisting a classroom teacher in daily classroom activities, keeping records, and working with children and parents in a center based program.  Full-time positions available in: Cherry Valley, Morris, Oneonta, Schenevus, and Unadilla.  School breaks and summers off.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED; current preschool CDA preferred; one year experience working with pre-school children; a valid New York State driver’s license. How to apply

NEW!  Building Healthy Families Support Specialist
The Building Healthy Families Support Specialist is a member of the dynamic Building Healthy Families program team that supports expectant and new parents to get off to a great start on their parenting journey.  Responsibilities include meeting with enrolled families in their own living environment, offering healthy pregnancy and parenting assessment and information, sharing resources to address challenges, and exploring parent-child activities that promote bonding, create happy healthy childhoods, and offer resiliency in times of stress.

Center Associate (Full-Time & Substitutes)
The Center Associate works in the Head Start Program that supports children, ages 3-5 from low income families, to develop skills needed to be successful in school.  Responsibilities include assisting a classroom teacher in daily classroom activities, school bus monitoring, and working with children and parents in a center-based program.  Full-time position is at our Schenevus site. Substitutes work hours as needed by the program, and are needed at multiple sites.  School breaks and summers off.
Qualifications:  High School Diploma/GED; one year experience working with pre-school children; a valid New York State driver's license (not mandatory for substitutes). How to apply

NEW!  Center-Based Family Partner
The Center-Based Family Partner works in a community-based program that supports low income families with children enrolled in the Head Start/Early Head Start Program.  Responsibilities include assisting families to design and implement development plans, planning and conducting client home visits, promoting full attendance in the program, maintaining data and records, and writing reports.  This position is located at our Schenevus site. School breaks and summers off.
Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Family Services, Counseling  or related field OR Associates degree in Human Services, Social Work, Family Services, Counseling or related field with a credential and  one year of related experience in Human Services; valid New York State driver’s license and reliable vehicle. How to apply

Center Director
The Center Director works in the Head Start/Early Head Start program that supports children, ages 0-5 from low income families, to develop skills needed to be successful in school.  Responsibilities include supervising employees, managing operations of a multi-classroom center, purchasing, ensuring compliance with regulatory and program standards, maintaining data, and report writing.  This position is located at one of our Oneonta sites. School breaks and summers off.
Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, or a related field; two years teaching experience; two years supervisory experience; valid New York State driver's license. How to apply

NEW!  Children’s Center Associate (Substitutes)
The Children’s Center Associate works in a day care center for children whose parents have business in the Otsego County Courts.  Responsibilities include assisting a classroom teacher in daily classroom activities and working with children and parents in a center based program.  Substitutes work hours as needed by the program.

Classroom Teacher
The Classroom Teacher works in the Head Start program that supports children, ages 3-5 from low income families, to develop skills needed to be successful in school.  Some Classroom Teachers also work in the UPK program.  Responsibilities include planning and conducting daily classroom activities, conducting screenings and assessments, parent-teacher conferences and home visits, record keeping, and supervising Assistant Teachers and classroom volunteers.  This is a UPK program position, located in Oneonta.  School breaks and summers off.
Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood, Elementary Education or a related field; one year of experience in an early childhood program; Teacher certification (for UPK program teachers only); valid New York State driver’s license and reliable transportation. How to apply

Emergency Housing

EHAP Residential Associate (Substitutes)
The EHAP Residential Associate works in the Emergency Housing Assistance Program to support and advocate for clients at the emergency housing residential facility, helping them attain permanent housing, employment, and other goals to achieve self-sufficiency. Responsibilities include ensuring the security, safety, and health of residents and staff, collaborating with other community programs and organizations, responding to the emergency housing hotline, and providing on-call coverage as assigned.  Substitutes work hours as needed by the program.

Housing Intake Coordinator
The Housing Intake Coordinator is part of the Emergency Housing Assistance Program team that provides a variety of support services for clients residing in the agency homeless shelter or needing assistance to retain and maintain safe, stable, affordable housing.  Responsibilities include: conducting intake interviews and assessments of clients seeking housing assistance, entering data and maintaining records, writing reports, record keeping, data entry, and various office duties.
Qualifications:  High school diploma/GED (Associates degree in social services or business administration desirable); one year job experience including work with the public, following procedures, and client service; valid New York State driver’s license. How to apply

Victim Support

Victim Resource Coordinator
The Victim Resource Coordinator works with the Violence Intervention Program team to provide a variety of support services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and violent crimes. Responsibilities include conducting domestic violence and sexual assault prevention education and presentations in schools and other community settings, coordinating rape crisis training, developing programs, report writing, and supervising interns and volunteers.
Qualifications:  Bachelor's Degree in Teaching, Counseling, or discipline related to the job; one year experience highly related to education and public information; New York State Department of Health Rape Crisis Certification within first six months of employment; valid New York State driver’s license and reliable vehicle. How to apply

NEW!  VIP Residential Associate (Full-timeSubstitutes)
The VIP Residential Associate works in the Violence Intervention Program to support victims of domestic violence and sexual assault by maintaining a safe environment at the domestic violence shelter, conducting intake interviews, providing client support, advocacy, and medical accompaniment, assisting in case management and crisis intervention, and answering the domestic violence/sexual assault hotline.  Three full-time positions available:  one is 40 hrs/wk, Mon-Thur, 2nd shift; one is 25 hrs/wk, Fri-Sun, 2nd shift; one is 24 hrs/wk, Fri-Sun, overnights.  Substitutes work hours as needed by the program.
